So before I go I wanted to post about a bunch of new bands/new releases which have come up and the bands have chucked online for you to download. There is some real good stuff here and something for everyone (kinda). So...
The first is a debut release from a very new Sydney band named Millhouse. Their EP is called "Everything's Coming Up..." and I guess the best way to describe it would be nerdy melodic punk (or pop-punk but that term irks me). There are four tracks and it rings in at about eight and a half minutes. Songs all kind of have the same sound and feel, with lyrics about how people can't type on the internet because they are morons, the importance of moving and therefore not being fat, relationship issues and more. They've been kind enough to chuck it up on their BandCamp site for free. Check it out.
Secondly, Reality from Sydney have chucked up their new EP on the interwebz for free. The band is pretty cool, they came up a while ago with Vera. They kind of sound like Hope Con or something, you know by now that I suck at descirbing bands and how they sound or who they sound like. Probably because I'm not like Reid Baker, i.e. a pompous fuckhead who tries to sound really 'on the ball' because I read heaps of shit other dickheads post of forums and recycle them. Anyway, that was enough of a rant/explaination, you can get "We All Turn Out The Same" right here!
The third download is the debut demo from the new Gold Coast band Survival. They have a solid lineup of guys who have all been in good bands and know what they're doing, and this band is no different... well, it might be a little more angry. Elmzy is singing and that is fucking sick and I hope people kill each other when they play. There are 5 tracks and they're angry as hell. You should definitely check it out. They've put it up online and you can download the songs right here.
Finally, Byron Bay's almighty SHACKLES have just put out a new three song tape called "Preliminary Harm" (there will be a post about the tape it's self tonight, it's a cracker). You can grab the tape for a couple of bucks from the band or from Arrest Records. Please go and buy a real copy and support these guys, they are a fucking amazing band and although they sound like they do, they are the nicest bunch of guys. Anyway, this is floating around the internet and I can't officially link it here, but you should get the tape or whatever because the songs are mental.
So, enjoy. Go see these bands. Reality are playing a bunch of shows in Sydney. Millhouse will probably be playing shows soon around their local area. Survival have their first show some time in the coming weeks. Shackles are going down to Sydney and shit to play with Suffer and some other bands, they've also got a bunch of Brisbane shows but some of them are gay and in nightclubs or whatever but you should still go and punch someone or something.
